Our 5/4 radius edge decking is a premium deck board and is available in most lengths.

Thayer Lumber maintains a stock of over 28 different types of hardwood lumber. Our selection includes great Canadian hardwoods: Oak, Maple, Birch, Walnut, Cherry and more. We also carry more exotic hardwoods such as African Mahogany, Jatoba, Iroko, Purpleheart, Zebrawood, Wenge and many more.

All our hardwoods are kiln dried, select and better grade for a superior board. Our hardwoods come in 1" (25mm) and 2" (50mm) thickness. Thicker materials are available in some species, and hardwoods are rough-surfaced or planed.

With so many wood varieties, sizes and lengths to choose from, our customers like to browse our stock and pick the pieces they want. Come to our store and check out the exotics wood bin. The contents are constantly changing.

Thayer Lumber has many different plywood products. From standard construction plywood, formply, to OSB, MDF and melamine, we have what you need to complete your project.

We also specialize in hardwood plywoods of many different species. Birch, oak, maple, cherry and walnut are stock items. Baltic birch plywood is in stock as well. To complement our plywood, we carry matching edge tapes, lumber, glues, stains and finishes.

For the advertising and sign customers, Thayer Lumber has Alumalite signboard sheets, as well as Coroplast plastic sheets in seven colours.

We offer an accurate cutting service for sheet goods. If sheet materials are too large for you to carry, we can cut them for easier handling. We can custom cut sheet goods to size.

At Thayer Lumber we maintain a large assortment of timbers in stock.

Decking

Thayer Lumber keeps a wide variety of beautiful western red cedar on hand in 2x6 & 5/4 for decking. This is an excellent quality cedar for the best in decking. 

We also stock cedar lumber in many sizes from 1x4 to 2x10 to 4x4 to help you complete your cedar decking project. We stock clear grades in cedar as well. Come and see our selection of great quality western red cedar.

Fencing

We stock pre-cut pressure treated fence boards in 1x6x5' and 6', 4x4 and 6x6 posts, 2x4 railings, and lattice that will complete a great fencing project.

Marine Lumber

Thayer Lumber has a large selection of products for boat building and boat repair. We have many different types of wood suitable for marine use, including

Hard-to-find marine plywood is kept in stock from ¼” to ¾” thicknesses.

All of our plywood is certified to the BS1066 standard for a quality marine sheet.

Marine Hardware & Supplies

Thayer Lumber is the place for marine maintenance supplies in the Sault and area.

• We stock Interlux marine paints (in 11 colours!). Schooner varnish and Captain’s varnish are good quality marine coatings ready for your boat.
• For the ultimate in marine finish, Epiphanes wood finishes are the superior choice. Also in stock is Cetol marine finishes, bottom coat paints, gelcoats and colour tints.
• Thayer Lumber is a stocking dealer of the West System Epoxy product line, a favourite of boat builders and marine repair experts. We carry the full line of West System supplementary products such as rollers, syringes, colourants, fillers and more.
